The Austrian Trade Index (ATX) is Austria’s most important share index. The ATX reflects the performance of the blue-chip companies listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange in realtime and provides the base value for options and future contracts traded on the Vienna Stock Exchange. The composition is reviewed in March and September every year. Capitalized free float and stock market turnover are the decisive factors for inclusion or exclusion. Whenever the index is adjusted, a maximum of three shares may be adjusted. The starting date for the ATX was 2 January 1991 at a starting value of 1,000 points.
